Dodon: negotiations on Moldova’s accession to the EU will not begin until the end of this year
Negotiations on Moldova’s accession to the European Union (EU) will not begin until the end of 2024 due to the elections to the European Parliament. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Social Party Igor Dodon on TV channel N4.
“The problem is that now there is no one to negotiate with, since the campaign for the European Parliament elections is in full swing, which will be held in almost two months,” said the ex-president of the republic.
He recalled that after the last elections to the EP, negotiations on the appointment of the leadership of the European Parliament lasted six to seven months.
In addition, Dodon noted that nothing had been done to start negotiations on Moldova’s accession to the EU. At the same time, he did not rule out that the leadership of the EC will completely change its attitude towards the republic.
