As a result of the autopsy of the body of a 51-year-old employee of the Sochi hockey club and a scout of the Russian national team system, Andrey Michkov, doctors found no signs of violent death, reports “Sport Express”. Andrei Michkov is the father of hockey player Matvey Michkov, champion of the 2020 Youth Olympic Games.
The autopsy results showed that the man, whose corpse was found in the pond, died due to water entering the lungs. On April 2, Andrey Michkov went out to the store from a residential building in the urban-type settlement of Sirus and disappeared. Two days later, his body was found in a pond on Old Believer Street near the house.
18-year-old Matvey Michkov in 2020 became the champion of the Youth Olympic Games as part of the Russian team and broke Nikita Kucherov’s record for the number of goals scored in the MHL under the age of 17. The hockey player made his debut in the SKA-Neva team in October 2022, and in December he moved to Sochi on loan until the end of the season. For Sochi, he played 27 games in the KHL, in which he scored 20 points. Matvey Michkov is one of the top picks for the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
