American and British film, theater and TV actress Pamela Salem died shortly after her 80th birthday. Big Finish reports.
Salem is best known for her role as Professor Rachel Jensen in the Doctor Who franchise. She also played in more than seventy other projects.
Salem was born in India and educated in Germany and London. She performed on the stages of various theaters, including playing in productions based on the works of Chekhov and Shakespeare.
She has appeared on the big screen since the 1960s, and her works include The Royal Court, EastEnders, and The Professionals. She also played Zoe Bennett in the 1970s film adaptation of All Creatures Great and Small, The Great Train Robbery and Never Say Never Again.
In the 1990s, Salem moved to Los Angeles and starred in American shows such as ER and Western Shelter.
The cause of the actress’s death is not known.
