Ophthalmologist Irina Leshchenko warned about the risk of retinal detachment even after laser vision correction. In an interview with Sputnik radio, she emphasized that the progression of myopia increases the likelihood of this complication.

“The higher the degree of myopia, the greater the risk of retinal detachment due to its elongation. She also noted the dangers of certain hobbies, such as picking mushrooms and berries, as well as extreme sports for people with myopia due to the possible increase in pressure and strain in the eyes.
