On Friday, in honor of the 22nd anniversary of United Russia, its chairman Dmitry Medvedev held a traditional reception of citizens. During the meeting, it became clear that the Russians not only have proposals, but also problems. Dmitry Medvedev supported the first, and the second, if he didn’t solve everything, then ordered it to be solved.

This time, Dmitry Medvedev held a reception of citizens in Novosibirsk. Having congratulated his party members on their birthday, he focused on the fact that regional governors, deputies, senators and representatives of departments will take part in the reception of the population throughout the country this decade. Everything, according to Dmitry Medvedev, is possible due to the fact that United Russia is the “ruling party.” The head of the Novosibirsk region, Andrei Travnikov, sat on the sidelines at the same table with Mr. Medvedev and with his silent presence (he did not utter a word during the entire event) seemed to confirm his words.

Dmitry Medvedev explained that the interaction between the party and citizens within the reception areas is aimed at helping every person. “This is not always easy, but, of course, we must strive for this,” the politician admitted, adding that sometimes some requests from Russians on individual cases reveal general problems that require “nationwide solutions.”

Before the start of the reception itself, Vice-Speaker of the State Duma and Deputy Secretary of the General Council of United Russia Anna Kuznetsova (who is now in charge of the work of public receptions) cheerfully reported on what questions citizens usually turn to the party with. There was not much intrigue here: “The first place is traditionally occupied by social security issues – an increase of 17% from the previous year. They are mainly related to work in new regions. Here we see a great resource in the work of the “I am in Russia” portal. In second place are the issues of providing housing and communal services. Third place is occupied by health issues – 5.2% of the total.” At the same time, the total number of requests has recently increased by 15%. From this one could draw a non-optimistic conclusion that citizens have more and more problems with which they are ready to go to the United Russia. But Anna Kuznetsova did something different – this indicates that people simply began to trust the party’s public receptions more.

After this, it was the turn of the appeals themselves. Not all of them were problematic. Thus, volunteer of the “Young Guard of United Russia” Daniil Luzgin proposed creating a single resource where all volunteer projects would be united. “We need to have a digital shell for all these projects. We have a portal “I am in Russia”. It needs to be filled with information. I will ask my colleagues in United Russia to think about how to summarize all the projects,” Dmitry Medvedev easily agreed, adding that when information is in different places, even a “modern young man” cannot always find it.

Next was Oksana Beketova, who works in one of the kindergartens in Novosibirsk as a physical education instructor. At the beginning of her request, she suddenly fell silent. “Don’t worry,” the United Russia member encouraged her. As it turned out, the point was that Mrs. Beketova’s profession is not equated with teaching staff, which does not allow its representatives to apply for early retirement. “I’ll write to you so they can work it out with the government, okay?” — Dmitry Medvedev punished Anna Kuznetsova.

Finally, the time has come for more pressing problems. A woman from the DPR, who moved to Kaliningrad in 2022, said that for a year now she has not been able to obtain documents to apply for a pension: “Everyone has the same problem. Help solve the problem with the pension fund.” Here, Dmitry Medvedev has already allowed himself the emotion of righteous anger. “If everything happens within a year, it’s a disgrace, to be honest,” he said sternly. Anna Kuznetsova tried to defend the pension funds, explaining that documents for such people often disappeared during hostilities. “There are special procedures for replenishing non-existent papers,” Dmitry Medvedev retorted, emphasizing the fact that it is necessary to adopt the rule that if some circumstances in such situations cannot be proven, then “they must be taken on faith.” “But just sitting and doing nothing is wrong,” he gave his verdict.

There was another appeal from the DPR. One of the mothers of many children in this region said that they do not have regional maternity capital. Dmitry Medvedev recalled that he himself was involved in the government’s implementation of this “financial instrument.” “As far as I know, it is now planned to introduce maternity capital, given that next year has been declared the Year of the Family, and this opportunity will appear for any eligible family in the Donetsk People’s Republic. I assume that the leadership will soon come up with such an initiative and adopt the necessary regulations,” he promised.

A mother with many children from Sevastopol, whose husband is fighting in a special military operation (SVO), and whose son died there, also took part in the reception. And she asked that her other children could attend the Kremlin New Year tree. After all that they have experienced, I want to “give them some kind of joy that they will remember for the rest of their lives,” explained the person who came to the reception. Of course, Dmitry Medvedev promised to help.

Former SVO member Nikolai Gritsai told the party chairman that “in civilian life” he could not get a job before United Russia helped him and got him a job at the employment center. According to him, not all other combatants were as lucky. Dmitry Medvedev promised that party members would pay special attention to the problem: “It is necessary that everyone who returns from the Northern Military District understands that they are cared for, understands that his fate is in the hands of interested people.”

The reception ended on a rather positive note. A young man with glasses and a hipster beard proposed creating a single platform for placing orders for R&D. Dmitry Medvedev supported his proposal.
