During the summer off-season, the Ivanovo “Textilshchik” squad was replenished with a large number of new players of different levels and abilities. Many versatile football players came to Ivanovo, but what surprised me the most was the signing of a contract with Dmitry Efremov.
A graduate of CSKA Moscow and a participant in historic matches against Real Madrid in the Champions League, he spent the 2023-2024 season in Ulyanovsk Volga, which was relegated from the First League. Dmitry was waiting for offers from First League clubs, but Tekstilshchik offered the best conditions for a player with experience playing in the European championship.
From the very first matches, Dmitry began to benefit the new team, scoring a goal against Metallurg Lipetsk, but Dmitry was unable to help Tekstilshchik at a distance. He was injured and was out until the end of the summer-autumn part of the season.
Dmitry Efremov spoke about the level of interest in the Second League.
“There is interest in going higher. We have the example of Igor Akinfeev. It would seem, why would he play in the RPL? He won everything! Nevertheless, the interest remains. The same can be said about Ronaldo,” said Dmitry.
