In the Nikiforovsky district, the zonal championship in Russian bast shoes, the oldest sports game that does not lose its popularity, took place.
The home team presented the Nikiforovsky district with dignity: the boys’ team from school No. 1, led by a coach, physical education teacher Vladimir Kolontaev, and the girls’ team from the Ekaterininsky branch of school No. 1, coached by teacher Elena Popova, were among the winners. The boys became leaders of the zonal championship, and the girls took third place.

Among the girls, the team from Michurinsk school No. 18 turned out to be the best. The second place was taken by both teams of the Tambov school No. 30. The team of boys from the Tokarevsky district was awarded 3rd place, the regional newspaper Znamya reports.
