Volunteers who received a disability during the Russian military operation in Ukraine will be able to receive two pensions and other compensation provided for by law, said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. According to him, the government continues to develop additional measures of social support for the participants in the operation.
“The government has adjusted the rules for volunteers who have been issued disability due to injury, injury or illness, which will allow them to simultaneously receive two pensions, one of which is for disability, as well as various compensations,” Mr. Mishustin said at a meeting of the coordinating council for meeting the needs of the special operation (quote from site governments).
Mikhail Mishustin also said that other measures to support the participants in the military operation are being prepared, which will be announced later. In particular, he noted that the bill on monthly allowance for the widows of combat veterans was adopted in the first reading.
In addition, the government has allocated additional funding for special additional payments to medical workers of the Russian Armed Forces and other military personnel who provide assistance to the wounded, the prime minister said.
On November 21, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree granting combat veteran status to volunteers. In addition, the length of service for the appointment of insurance pensions to participants in the military operation in Ukraine will be doubled. The first deputy chairman of the United Russia faction, Dmitry Vyatkin, told Kommersant earlier that in the near future the party will publish a number of bills relating to the social protection of participants in the military operation and their families.
