Director Andrei Zvyagintsev complained about the severe complications of COVID-19
Director Andrei Zvyagintsev spent several months in a wheelchair. These were the consequences of the transferred COVID-19. The director himself spoke about this in an interview with the Forbes Kazakhstan YouTube channel.
The director fell ill in July 2021. First, he was put in intensive care in Moscow, and then transferred to Germany for treatment. There he was introduced into a clinical coma, in which Zvyagintsev stayed for 40 days. It affected the nervous system.
Eight months after recovering from the coronavirus, he had to move around in a wheelchair. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation in Paris. Doctors say that it can take up to two years for the body to fully recover.
