Director of the Judicial Department of the Supreme Court Gusev resigned - Kommersant

The general director of the judicial department at the Supreme Court, Alexander Gusev, wrote a letter of resignation, said deputy Alexander Khinshtein in his Telegram-channel. The press service of the Supreme Court told Kommersant that they do not have such information.

According to the deputy, Mr. Gusev’s application will be considered by the Council of Judges of Russia this week. Alexander Gusev has held the position of General Director of the department since 2000. He is 64 years old. Mr. Gusev, State Counselor of Justice, 1st class, and Vice-President of the Russian Bar Association (AAR). In 2002 he was awarded the Order of Friendship, in 2009 he received the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree.

The Judicial Department is responsible for organizational support for all Russian courts, and also oversees the unified information space of the judicial system. In particular, its activities include measures of organizational, legal, financial, logistical, personnel, social, informational and other nature. According to Alexander Gusev, the department’s work is aimed at creating conditions for the full and independent administration of justice.
