Director General of the Russian National Library (RNL) Vladimir Gronsky died at the age of 70, reports TASS with reference to RNB. As reported by the St. Petersburg edition “Rotunda”in November, Mr. Gronsky was admitted to intensive care due to heart problems.
Vladimir Gronsky was born on December 31, 1952 in Kronstadt. In 1991, he became one of the founders of the Nevskoe Vremya newspaper and served as its deputy editor-in-chief. From 1996 to 2001, he served as editor-in-chief of Evening Petersburg.
In February 2002, Mr. Gronsky was appointed director of public relations at the brewery named after. Stepan Razin. In March 2005, he was appointed general director of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic. A year later he was dismissed.
