From the second day of summer, the national Russian carrier begins to deliver Russians directly to Macau, and the tourism industry is already “composing” tours to the city, called Chinese Las Vegas or Asian Monte Carlo. The average Russian tourist is not yet familiar with Macau and does not know the main thing – you can live there for free. We share what tour operators will not tell you about.

The airline plans to fly to Macau daily from Moscow from June 2 until the winter of 2024 (permits have already been received for this period). And this means that on the basis of these flights, a tourist product will definitely be formed.

The locals themselves call Macau an “island”, but geographically this is a mistake: the city with this name is located in the southern part of the mainland on the coast of the South China Sea, but the Macau District also includes the Peninsula de Macau and two islands – Taipa and Coloan. The original name of Macau – Macau (in another Chinese dialect Oomon) is the oldest European colony in East Asia, which served as a trading port for the Portuguese colonizers. Macau was returned to China only in 1999, but the PRC authorities found that the inhabitants of Macau had a “mentality different from the Chinese” and left it as a special administrative region.

– How exactly?

– I lost a lot, but I still come every year. And hotel owners rely on the fact that a free guest will look, look, and also get involved. That’s how it happens, by the way. Even those who do not play go to the casino: there are all sorts of concerts every evening, shows and stars.

Macau regulars also remind that it is faster and cheaper to get from China to Macau by high-speed train. The nearest train station is within walking distance, so do not try to pay in advance for any transfers. And also pay visa fees: Russians do not need a visa in Macao, without it you can safely stay there for a whole month. Macao will not be marked in your passport in any way, but will issue a paper insert that can be thrown away when leaving the Asian Las Vegas. Experienced players say that this is such a “gaming delicacy”: not everyone wants to advertise their visits to Macau.
