We must believe in the great Russian people: Vladimir Putin summed up the results of the year. This time the president’s direct line was combined with his press conference. The head of state answered all the main issues on the current agenda – from Ukraine, mobilization, relations with the West and to prices for chicken eggs. In the latter case, Putin apologized to the population and promised to correct the situation. As a result, the country’s leader actually chided himself for excessive trust in the West in the early 2000s. Kommersant FM political commentator Dmitry Drize believes that the main goal of the authorities is to show the correctness of the chosen path.
The main message remains the same: we cannot say that everything is wonderful in our country, but the situation as a whole is under control. And there is economic growth, confirmed by numbers, despite all the challenges, which are pointless to deny. But, again, here we need to repeat again: on the whole, our course is beyond doubt.
There are flaws and inconsistencies, but you see, dear fellow citizens, what is happening outside the window, these are not small children. It could and could have been much worse if it weren’t for our Russian government taking the right measures.

Over the years, I have taught myself that I need to strive to choose the most important thing and do everything to achieve my goals, not paying attention to all the fluff.
Therefore, the direct line, also known as a press conference, is no longer a book of complaints. The President does not connect gas to grandmothers these days, he maintains the stability of the state and copes with his task – this is for you on the issue of the main elections for the country.
The time has not come for change, let alone reform. Maybe it won’t come at all. But this is not our fault, but that of the hostile environment. And even more can be said: not only America and Europe are the main root of evil, the overall situation in the world is complex. Therefore, our task is to maintain stability. Actually, we could end here, since the main thesis has been voiced.
But there are particulars: for example, chicken eggs have become more expensive. Others will ask: is it really impossible to resolve this issue without the president? Can. But the head of state must be aware of all events, and this topic is important for the common people, about whom the highest authorities primarily care. He, the common people, is the main voter. And there’s no shame in even apologizing to him, which is what Vladimir Putin does.
This is about the issue of the election campaign. You need to be closer to the people and be kinder to them, and everything will work out.

I just recently spoke with the Minister of Agriculture and asked how things were going with his eggs. They say that everything is fine with them – to be honest, this is direct speech. I say: but our citizens have some problems.
What else can you highlight? We have not yet won on the Ukrainian fronts, but the enemy has little chance. As for a new mobilization, at least for now there is no need for it. Abortions – please, no extremes. We are not enemies of the West either. If they come to their senses, we’ll accept it and resume a constructive partnership. No – it’s their business.
Received questions are displayed in the background on the large screen. But not all of them are voiced, and many fall into the categories of edgy and even provocative. This is also the right move: we have freedom of speech, you see, we accept everything, we don’t miss anything. As for the answers, you already know them yourself. Why waste time on this once again, distracting the head of state over trifles?
Some cynics will ask: is everything really that smooth? Well, even for such people there will be an answer, where the country is going and what goals it ultimately sets for itself – this is somehow not entirely clear. And without this, the Russian people will have no confidence in the future. And if so, then risks arise that many problems will remain unresolved.
