Diplomat Ozerov: Western demands on African countries backfire

Western countries, making demands on African states to cancel cooperation with Russia, achieve the opposite effect. This opinion was expressed by Oleg Ozerov, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry. He stressed. that the attempt to dictate irritates many African countries that are striving to defend their sovereignty.
The diplomat noted that the US attempt to attribute some “malicious activity” to the Russian Federation in Africa is untenable. And the bill, which provides for the use of “punishment” by the United States against African countries for cooperation with Russia, will have the opposite effect.
The second Russia-Africa summit will be held in St. Petersburg in July 2023. It is expected that the heads of most states of the continent will arrive. The summit will be devoted to economic and humanitarian cooperation between the Russian Federation and African countries, including energy and food security.
