In the Belgorod region introduced a high level of terrorist threat indefinitely

In the Belgorod region, from February 4, the "yellow" (high) level of terrorist danger will operate indefinitely, informed in his Telegram channel, the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov.

“The need to continue introducing the “yellow” level of terrorist threat is absolutely obvious. Therefore, from today it will be indefinite,” wrote Gladkov.

The governor recalled that earlier the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin granted such a right to the heads of regions. Gladkov said that he was “forced” to use it, and, according to him, the authorities would remove the restrictive measures after the situation improved. He stressed that the main thing now is the safety of the inhabitants of the Belgorod region.

On Saturday night, a civilian industrial facility in the village of Borisovka was attacked by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), a fire broke out, Gladkov also wrote.

“Thank God that no one was hurt, the employees of the enterprise were evacuated in time. Now everything is being done to minimize the damage,” the governor said.

The Belgorod Region has become the fourth region that has set the "yellow" level of terrorist threat indefinitely. Prior to that, it was installed in CrimeaBryansk and Kursk regions.

On January 31, Putin lifted the time limit for introducing terrorist threat levels in Russian regions. Previously, the level of terrorist threat could be set for a period of no more than 15 days, now the decision to introduce a threat level becomes indefinite and is valid until it is canceled. February 1 head of state declaredthat the border regions of Russia should not be subjected to shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This task is facing the Ministry of Defense of the country, the head of state noted.

“Of course, the priority task is to eliminate the very possibility of shelling, but this is the business of the military department,” Putin said at a meeting on the restoration of residential infrastructure destroyed in border areas and as a result of emergencies.

There are three levels of terrorist danger: "blue" (increased), "yellow" (high) and "red" (critical).

In April 2022, the "yellow" (high) level of terrorist threat was introduced by six of the seven border regions against the backdrop of regular shelling from Ukraine. Since then, the regime has been repeatedly extended. In addition, from October 19, 2022, a "medium response" regime was introduced, which applies to eight border regions - Crimea, Sevastopol, Krasnodar Territory, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk and Rostov regions.
