On February 24, Krasnodar athletics coach Alexander Sinitsyn died suddenly.
Alexander Vladimirovich was one of the leading specialists in track and field throwing in Russia, he had the title of Honored Coach of the country. He brought up a number of top-class athletes who became Olympic medalists, world and Russian champions. Among them are Maria Abakumova, Larisa Korotkevich, Dmitry Shevchenko, Alexander Lesnoy, Boris Bezdolny.
According to the All-Russian Athletics Federation, during training, Alexander Vladimirovich felt unwell, on the way home he became even worse, he called an ambulance. But it was not possible to save the coach, a blood clot broke off from him.
Alexander Sinitsyn was born on May 30, 1956 in a mining village on the outskirts of Novokuznetsk. He himself was engaged in hammer throwing, was a master of sports of international class, became the winner of the USSR Cup and the Russian championship. From the end of the 70s he permanently lived in Krasnodar, as a coach for many years he led throwing groups at the Dynamo stadium.
During February of this year, he, along with his students, was regularly at competitions in Sochi. After the tournament in memory of Lunev, where Alexander Vladimirovich was a technical delegate, gave a comment “MK in the Kuban”.
