On November 8, the artist of the Kuban Cossack Choir (KKH) Valentin Zakharov, who had served as a dancer, teacher and choreographer in the team for more than 40 years, died. This is reported on the website of the choir.

Zakharov participated in the All-Russian competition of state Russian folk choirs in 1975 and 1984, where he was declared the winner. Together with the choir, he traveled to perform all over the world.
After completing his dancing career, he worked as a teacher, head of the folk dance department at a boarding school for gifted children named after. V. G. Zakharchenko.
He was also a tutor and choreographer, and was frequently invited to judge various competitions.
