American company Blizzard reportedthat the video game Diablo IV brought in a record $666 million for the studio in the first five days of sales, and also became the fastest-selling game in the history of the company. In total, gamers have played more than 276 million hours in Diablo IV (over 30 thousand years), and also killed 276 billion game demons.
The company reported that players “died” during the passage of almost 317 million times (including 5.8 million – from the “Butcher”), more than 166 million times united with other gamers in groups. 163 players were able to reach the maximum level of 100 in hardcore mode, where there is no way to replay after the death of a playable character. Blizzard is going to provide the game with additional content and seasons in the future.
Diablo IV came out on June 6th and received Russian voice acting, but the project cannot be officially purchased in Russia. Blizzard also started untie phone numbers of Russians from the Battle.net service, where most of the company’s games, including Diablo, were available. It is also no longer possible to register new accounts with Russian numbers. The company attributes this to its position on Russia’s special operation in Ukraine.
