American corporation Google testing a new feature that will allow users to search within PDF files as well as images. The new feature is called “Smart Search”, it will help you quickly find the files you need on mobile devices.
A limited number of users can install the update for now. You won’t be able to search images by location or tag and find people in images like you can in Google Photos. Currently, Google Files can only be searched by document name, and many of the file names on smartphones are made up of random letters and numbers. Google believes that the new feature will help in quickly searching for e-tickets, and Smart Search itself ensures that files are scanned in the background so that it does not affect the performance of the device.
Previously Google added the search engine has a new function for checking the origin of an image, as well as implemented into the search bar a test version of the image generator based on the Imagen AI model.
