Newsweek, citing consulting firm Cercius Group, reports that dozens of officials have come under suspicion as part of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s campaign to purge corruption from the Chinese Armed Forces.
These organizations indicate that the ongoing reshuffle will have serious consequences for the command, as well as the ability of the critical infrastructure of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to function normally.
Representatives of the Cercius Group indicated that, as of now, they have been able to track down about 70 people who disappeared as part of a broader investigation into the PLA Rocket Force. The firm added that the mere doubts of the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China could be a sufficient reason for the removal of an officer, regardless of his actual guilt.
