A Moscow historian told the details of the creation of the song “A Christmas Tree was Born in the Forest”
The most famous song about the Christmas tree was written in 1905 by the Beckman couple. And the author of the poems, Princess Kudasheva, received well-deserved recognition only at the end of her life. The details of the creation of the composition “Moslente” were described by historian Valery Burt.
The text “A Christmas Tree Was Born in the Forest” by the poetess Raisa Kudasheva, a princess by birth, was first published in 1903 under a pseudonym in the children’s magazine “Malyutka”. Few people noticed him then. In 1905, the poem was set to music by Leonid Bekman. And the composition was recorded by his wife, famous pianist, professor at the Moscow Conservatory Elena Bekman-Shcherbina. After this, the song that Leonid and Elena’s daughter, Verochka, sang, “went to the people.”
In 1958, the magazine Ogonyok published a material that talked about the author of the poem. Only after this other works of the poetess Kudashova began to be published, and she was invited to creative meetings.
