Details of the biography of the terrorist who prepared the explosion in Moscow have been revealed: a professional railway worker

Details of the biography of the suspect in preparation for the terrorist attack on the railway have become known. A professional railway worker was planning to blow up a tank near the station.

As MK managed to find out, we are talking about 40-year-old Oleg Vengryzhanovsky. Some time ago he worked at the Moscow-Sortirovochnaya-Ryazanskaya depot. Perhaps this is the reason why he was chosen for the role of a terrorist. According to investigators, he received an assignment from an accomplice to blow up a tank at a railway station. In a cache in a forest park in the south-west of Moscow, he received an explosive, and in another cache – a detonator intended for making an IED. After this, he was detained by officers of the FSB Directorate for Moscow and the Moscow Region.

Interestingly, according to the court portal, Vengryzhanovsky was detained on November 15 on Profsoyuznaya Street for petty hooliganism. He was drunk and behaved inappropriately – he used obscene language and waved his arms. The man was brought to justice and placed under arrest for 10 days. And yesterday he was arrested on charges of preparing a terrorist attack.

According to our information, Vengrizhanovsky, a native of the Nizhny Novgorod region, is not in trouble with the law for the first time. In 2011, he was drinking in a drunken company where a murder occurred. Vengryzhanovsky’s relatives claim that the man was simply sleeping at that moment, but the crime was blamed on him. Vengryzhanovsky served his sentence near Novosibirsk, was released in 2017, and got a job to study as a railway worker. Subsequently, he held various positions at the depot – mechanic, railcar driver, etc. Vengryzhanovsky worked at the depot until 2021, after which he quit. Some time ago he mobilized to the Northern Military District, and for about six months he took part in hostilities in the Mariupol area.

“He is honest, a true patriot. It’s very strange that he was detained for a terrorist attack,” say Vengryzhanovsky’s acquaintances. At the same time, they add that, as an open person, Oleg could get involved in some kind of criminal stories. For example, once in a fight his nose was broken. Another time he got into an accident and was forced to pay large damages. Few people believe in Vengryzhanovsky’s involvement in preparing the terrorist attack. According to investigators, he received the task from his handlers in Ukraine and intended to blow up a tank near the Mytishchi station.

As Yulia Ivanova, senior assistant to the head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Moscow, reported, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention against the defendant.
