WSJ: Tom Ford bought Jacqueline Kennedy’s childhood home for $52 million
American designer Tom Ford bought the house where Jacqueline Kennedy, the wife of the former US president, spent part of her childhood. This is reported The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
The house, located in East Hampton, New York, was the place where Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis spent her summer holidays as a child. Built in 1917, the property was owned by her grandfather, lawyer and stockbroker John Vernou Bouvier Jr. The deal amounted to 52 million dollars (about 5.12 billion rubles).
The house measures 789.7 square meters and features casement windows and beamed ceilings. The 3-hectare property also includes an eight-bedroom mansion, a two-bedroom guest house, a staff cottage, a swimming pool and a three-car garage with a workshop.
Information about the sale of the estate became known in May 2023. Initially, the former owner, commercial and film producer David Zander, asked for $55 million for the property.
