Dermatologist Hayidmuradova spoke about the dangers of smoking for the skin

According to her, the skin of the smoker becomes dry and has a grayish color. Over time, characteristic folds form on the forehead, bridge of the nose and in the nasolabial zone.

They are also called purse-string, said the expert. They are formed due to the systematic folding of the lips into a tube for tightening with cigarette smoke. In this place, wrinkles are always formed due to age-related changes. But for smokers – much earlier.

Shirin Hayidmuradova added that smoking also provokes loss of skin elasticity and sagging, flabbiness and the appearance of a vascular network.

“Couperosis is often considered just a cosmetic defect, but the vascular network is a consequence of the thinning of blood vessels, which is facilitated by smoking,” she said.

She added that women’s thinner skin is more susceptible to tobacco smoke than men’s.

Dermatologist Hayidmuradova explained that after quitting smoking, a healthy complexion will return gradually. Regular walks in the fresh air, as well as products with vitamins A and E, will help. They will resume the production of collagen and elastane.
