Der Spiegel: Ukrainian refugees do not want to work because conditions are “too comfortable”

Ukrainian refugees who are in Germany may be deprived of comfort so that they actively go to work. This was reported by Der Spiegel.

It is noted that only 19% of refugees from Ukraine found work in Germany, which is more than three times less than in Poland (66%) and the Netherlands (70%). The authorities began to look for the reason for the slow employment.

According to the publication, the opposition represented by the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), as well as representatives of municipal authorities, accuse the German government that they made a mistake by giving Ukrainian refugees special rights and integrating them into the country’s general social security system.

The head of the district in Thuringia, Matthias Jendricke, believes that generous benefits for Ukrainians “have created too comfortable conditions.”
