In Russia, they may oblige owners of electric scooters to register their vehicles with the traffic police and tax them. The corresponding initiative was proposed by the deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexander Yakubovsky, about which he spoke “Rise”.
He stressed that new penalties and restrictions on electric scooters could be considered during the autumn session. The deputy from United Russia also believes that electronic scooters should have license plates.
“In order to simply allow SIM control [Средства индивидуальной мобильности — прим. “МК”], it is necessary to pass on the rights. It must be identified, that is, there must be a number so that it can be tracked, ”said Yakubovsky.
In addition, the parliamentarian recalled that car drivers pay road tax, which is used to repair roads. In turn, SIM owners also use them, so, according to the deputy, it is necessary to introduce “some kind of minimum tax”, which will be used to improve road infrastructure and create bike paths.
