Deputy Valeev was skeptical about the law on the ban on filming air defense

According to the Deputy Head of the Security Committee, the current legislation is sufficient

The Duma Committee on Security is not aware of the preparation of a bill on responsibility for videotaping the work of air defense and the destruction of drones. The head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov made a statement about the need for such an innovation after another attempt by Ukraine to attack the Crimean bridge – citizens then posted on social networks footage of the location of Russian air defense installations that shot down Ukrainian missiles.

The deputy head of the Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Eduard Valeev (“ER”), in a conversation with MK, recalled that articles 275 and 276 of the Criminal Code “fully cover such acts as the collection of data that may be important for the country’s security and the transfer of such data to the adversary. (Article 275 of the Criminal Code for treason promises imprisonment for a term of 12 to 25 years, or life, and Article 276 of the Criminal Code for espionage threatens with a milder punishment: from 10 to 20 years in prison.)

If we are not talking about conscious actions, but about situations when a person, for example, was driving a car, witnessed the operation of air defense or the fall of a drone on some object, filmed it all and then posted it on social networks – “you need to understand specific cases , but it is hardly necessary to establish responsibility for this separately, especially since in the event of serious consequences, the Criminal Code provides many other opportunities,” the deputy believes.

At the same time, Mr. Valeev admits that “there is such a disease in society — to film everything and post it on social networks, and sometimes this disease can be harmful — for example, when a hostage-taking is filmed, thereby directly assisting terrorists by influencing the psyche of the beholders. According to him, the Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption has not discussed or prepared anything like the introduction of criminal or administrative liability for video evidence of eyewitnesses.

The head of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, who in his telegram channel said that “the authorities of the republic initiate at the federal level the toughening of responsibility for the dissemination in the public field” of photos and videos of the location and operation of air defense and other defense systems, as well as “the results of terrorist attacks committed by the Kiev regime”, did not specify what kind of responsibility could be discussed – administrative or criminal.

“Those who do this are willing or unwitting accomplices of the enemy, regardless of their motives, whether it is a desire to hype, stupidity or malicious intent,” the head of the region believes.
