Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Davankov submitted documents for presidential nomination to the Central Election Commission

Vice-Speaker of the State Duma, candidate from the New People party Vladislav Davankov submitted documents on his nomination for the presidency of Russia to the Central Election Commission. The day before, on December 24, the decision on his participation in the elections was made at the party congress.
The press service of “New People” clarified that today, December 25, the first package of necessary documents was submitted to the CEC. “The second package – for registration – will be submitted in January,” the party said.
Mr. Davankov himself said that in the near future he intends to begin traveling around Russian regions as part of the election campaign. The first city he will visit will be Smolensk. “I plan to personally travel to at least 30 regions. But thanks to trusted persons and regional headquarters, we will cover all of Russia,” the party’s press service quotes him as saying (Kommersant has the release). The headquarters of public support for Vladislav Davankov was headed by the deputy head of the Duma faction “New People”, former mayor of Yakutsk Sardana Avksentieva.
Voting in the presidential election will take place for the first time over three days, from March 15 to 17, 2024. The current President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, submitted documents to the Central Election Commission on December 18, he is running for election as a self-nominated candidate. Nikolai Kharitonov (from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation), Leonid Slutsky (from the LDPR), Boris Nadezhdin (from the Civil Initiative), Andrei Bogdanov (from the Russian Freedom and Justice Party), Vladimir Mikhailov (from the Social Protection Party) and Sergei Baburin (from the Russian All-People’s Union).
