Member of the State Duma Committee on Defense Viktor Sobolev responded to the criticism of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov of his words that shaving for a soldier is “an elementary requirement of military discipline.” Recall that earlier Kadyrov wrote in his Telegram channel that among the Chechen fighters who participate in the special operation, 99.9% have a beard, according to the Sunnah.
“I said that a soldier should look like a soldier. With or without a beard, it doesn’t matter,” Sobolev said in interview Gazeta.ru.
“I could not say such stupidity in principle,” the deputy added, commenting on the words spread in the media about the ban on beards for participants in the SVO.
He said that he was at the readiness review of the regiment and three battalions of Chechnya and saw that they were all with a beard, but they were well equipped, with insignia, well armed and trained.
Viktor Sobolev stressed once again that he has no complaints about the beards of the Chechen military.
