Deputy of the Parliament of Primorye arrested on suspicion of corruption – Kommersant

The Leninsky District Court of Vladivostok today, May 17, granted the petition of the investigation and detained Anna Aleko, a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Primorye, for a period of 1 month and 29 days.

“Aleko is under arrest until July 15. She is suspected of taking a bribe (Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation),” Yelena Oleneva, head of the joint press service of the judicial system of Primorsky Krai, told Kommersant.

According to the coastal mass media, Anna Aleko is suspected of receiving a bribe in the amount of about 3.5 million rubles from the head of Integra LLC for the purchase of musical instruments for the Primorsky Regional Philharmonic in 2018-2019. In the same period of time, Mrs. Aleko was the director of the State Autonomous Cultural Institution “Primorsky Regional Philharmonic”.

The Investigative Department of the ICR for Primorye refused to comment on the criminal prosecution of Anna Aleko to Kommersant.

It should be noted that currently in the same Leninsky district court obeys the criminal case of the director of Integra LLC Igor Surmach. The entrepreneur is accused of committing a crime under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud, using one’s official position, on an especially large scale). According to consequencesin September 2018, “he concluded two contracts with the Primorsky Regional Philharmonic for the supply of musical instruments for a total amount of over 5 million rubles, but he did not intend to fulfill his obligations.”

Anna Aleko was elected Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Primorye in September 2021 on the list of United Russia, taking second place in the regional three candidates after Governor Oleg Kozhemyako. In the local parliament, she took the post of Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Regulations, Deputy Ethics and Organization of Work.

This is the second deputy of the current composition of the Primorye Parliament, who fell under criminal prosecution. Member of the Communist Party faction Artem Samsonov accused in child molestation.
