Yekaterinburg City Duma deputy Aleksey Kholodarev was detained at the police station and taken to the Oktyabrsky District Court of Yekaterinburg. Administrative proceedings are being conducted against him under Part 1 of Art. 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (demonstration of paraphernalia of extremist organizations). This was reported to Kommersant by the deputy’s lawyer Alexei Bushmakov.

According to the lawyer, we are talking about the publication by Alexei Kholodarev on a social network in 2017 of a link to the film “He is not Dimon to you”, prepared by the Anti-Corruption Foundation (included in the register of non-profit organizations-foreign agents and recognized as an extremist organization whose activities are prohibited in Russia). ). The sanction of this article provides for a fine of up to 2 thousand rubles. or administrative arrest for up to 15 days. The day before, Aleksey Kholodarev told Kommersant-Ural that on Wednesday, August 10, he had to go to the police to draw up a protocol.

Mr. Kholodarev’s troubles began after he posted on Facebook (its parent company Meta is recognized as an extremist organization in Russia) a post made on the day the special operation began and refused to participate in an event in support of the president in May. As a result, MP lost Party card and was expelled from the Just Russia – For Truth faction in the City Duma. The current legislation does not allow depriving him of his deputy mandate on these grounds. Aleksey Kholodarev himself has not yet planned to resign as a deputy.

Recall that after Alexei Kholodarev was fined for discrediting the army, the prosecutor of Yekaterinburg Svetlana Kuznetsova demanded that the Duma of Yekaterinburg limit the powers of the deputy. However, the Duma Commission on Ethics only condemned the behavior of Alexei Kholodarev, urging him to adhere to ethical standards.
