First Deputy Minister of Sports of the Ulyanovsk Region Maxim Sobolev yesterday, February 1, wrote a letter of resignation of his own free will. The application was written the next day after the municipal accident, which could not be eliminated because of the Deputy Minister’s car.

The accident on heating networks in the center of Ulyanovsk on Minaeva Street occurred on the night of February 1. The emergency team of the Ulyanovsk branch of the T Plus company could not start work for a long time due to the fact that a Lexus car of Deputy Minister Maxim Sobolev was at the site of the pipeline break (the accident occurred next to the ministry building).

According to Kommersant’s sources, in T Plus and in the governor’s administration, the heads of the emergency service called the deputy minister with requests to urgently remove the car, to which he replied that he was sleeping and demanded to leave him behind. At the same time, the official used obscene language. The next morning, local Internet media and Telegram channels reported on the situation with the Deputy Minister’s car. The deputy minister told reporters that he was sleeping and did not hear the phone, which was put on silent mode.

In an interview with Kommersant, Maxim Sobolev said that “he himself made the decision to dismiss,” but refused to talk about the reasons.

Sports Minister Ramil Yegorov explained to Kommersant that his deputy “himself realized that he wanted to take a break from the excessive attention that fell on him due to his mistakes,” “he decided that he needed to pause.” The minister noted that there were no recommendations from anyone to quit, “Sobolev himself made the decision, he is an adult.” Ramil Yegorov said that in a conversation with him, Maxim Sobolev confirmed that he did not hear the calls because of the silent mode set for the night, and in the morning he immediately removed the car.

Meanwhile, sources in the governor’s administration told Kommersant that on February 1, “there was a trial in the administration” about this and “Sobolev was directly told that he was rude to those who eliminated the accident, because of this, many residents were left without heat and his behavior is in no way in line with the regional code of ethics for civil servants”, in connection with which it was recommended “to draw conclusions and make a decision yourself”.

Earlier, on January 16, Maxim Sobolev had already received rebuke for violating the code of ethics of a civil servant, which was expressed in the fact that the deputy minister spent a holiday on New Year’s days in Sri Lanka and posted holiday photos on social networks. Then Ramil Yegorov said that “this is wrong – at such a time (during the NWO period.— ”b”) travel abroad,” but dismissal would be too harsh a punishment, “considering that Sobolev is a professional in his field.” With Mr. Sobolev’s holiday abroad recommended deal with the governor of the region Alexei Russkikh.

Regional officials and deputies are forbidden to rest abroad during the special operation, but so far unofficially. Read about it in the material “Kommersant” “They don’t need the Dubai coast”.
