Preparation of the Ukrainian army for the offensive is in full swing
Publications have appeared in the Western media stating that Kiev allegedly doubts its readiness for an offensive due to a decrease in the quality of its troops. Thus, the Washington Post claims that the unpreparedness for the offensive is associated with the loss of experienced fighters and officers and with a shortage of weapons. However, Andrei Medvedev, deputy of the Moscow City Duma, saw signs of disinformation operations in these publications. In fact, the preparation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the offensive is in full swing.
“Firstly, everything is in order with Kyiv’s equipment. And the lack of aviation will be compensated by the strikes of unmanned aerial vehicles and Hymers (American jet systems. – “MK”), the deputy noted in his Telegram channel.
Secondly, according to the journalist, the loss of personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is really large, but the preparation of new formations, taking into account NATO standards, goes on without stopping.
According to the expert, the WP article was written solely to stop Russia from taking the threat of an offensive by the Ukrainian armed forces seriously. However, Medvedev stressed that such statements should not be trusted.
“The Armed Forces of Ukraine will be driven on the offensive, even if they are not fully combat-ready, but they will have to fight with flintlock rifles and powder cannons of the Koliivshchyna period,” he added.
The offensive, Medvedev states, will be a kind of justification from Kyiv to Western curators after the loss of Bakhmut, as well as the basis for receiving a new financial aid package and another attempt to weaken Moscow’s position on the external track.
As you know, Kyiv is forming three new army corps numbering 75-100 thousand people for a future offensive, which may begin in April-May. Equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is supplied by NATO countries.
