Russian State Duma deputy Sultan Khamzaev proposed giving non-smoking employees an additional day off every month. He made this appeal to the head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko.
Khamzaev believes that in this way it will be possible to reduce the number of obese citizens in the country.
“In the labor code, establish an additional day off per month for non-smoking employees to motivate people to quit this bad habit, which is also the cause of obesity,” the text of the appeal says.
In addition, Khamzaev believes that the company should be required to compensate workers for fitness expenses, as well as ban advertising of fast food in the media and inform the population about the negative impact of eating this food.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, during the forum “Russia is a sports power,” said that almost every tenth Russian suffers from obesity.
