New Year holidays must be reduced in order to “distribute the weekend evenly,” says State Duma deputy from United Russia Maxim Ivanov. He argues that there is no need to reduce the May holidays, because people are engaged in sowing, and in this case, the number of days off “probably still benefits.”
“It is necessary to distribute the weekends evenly so that people do not rest for weeks and do not understand what to do and already do something from idleness, but really distribute rationally, so that there are three days off, but nevertheless for three days active recreation would be good for everyone … We still need to cut the New Year holidays and make them smaller, ”he told RIA Novosti.
In 2023, Russians will have public holidays from January 1 to 8, from February 23 to 26, March 8, from May 29 to May 1, from May 6 to 9, from June 10 to 12, and also from November 4 to 6 .
