At a briefing at which he announced the allocation of a new $800 million military aid package to Ukraine, including cluster munitions, US Deputy Secretary of Defense Colin Kahl touched on the issue of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Again, it’s slower than what we hoped for,” Kahl said.

He noted that Ukrainian officials say the same thing.

At the same time, the deputy head of the Pentagon drew attention, Kiev still has a lot of combat power and most of this power “has not yet been withdrawn from the battlefield.”
