Deputy Butskaya proposed to involve schoolchildren in labor without asking their parents

New principles of labor education want to be enshrined in law

Schoolchildren should be involved in work, without asking the opinion of their parents. However, the students themselves do not need to be asked either. This conclusion was reached by the deputies of the State Duma. If nothing is changed, a whole generation of lazy people and dependents will grow up in Russia, Duma members are sure. Therefore, the precepts of A.S. They decided to return Makarenko not only at the level of an idea, but also in the form of a law.

The current legislation on education allows schoolchildren to be involved in labor only for the purpose of education. That is, it is possible to put together a stool at a technology lesson, but not during a subbotnik. Yes, and in principle, rowing leaves and cleaning candy wrappers in the schoolyard, according to the law, is possible only with the written consent of the parents and the student himself. And if the schoolchildren themselves most often give such consent, then mothers and fathers defend the “children” with a mountain, – they complain in the State Duma.

– I was told by the principal of a school in one of the regions how, after a heavy snowfall, he asked high school students to take shovels and clear the path in front of the school. So the parents wrote a complaint to the city administration, – said Olga Kazakova, head of the State Duma Committee on Education, at a round table on the topic of labor education of schoolchildren, which was held in the lower house on February 13.

The deputy noted that for many parents it became unthinkable that their children were on duty in the classroom or washed the floors at school:

– Parents now have a scarecrow – a doormat that will be given to their children and forced to squeeze, – Kazakova complained.

Parliamentarians are seriously concerned about the prospect of such regulation. According to the deputies, Makarenko’s covenants about collective work pushed to the far shelf will lead to the fact that a generation of dependents will grow up in the country. As the deputy Tatyana Butskaya noted, according to statistics, about 40% of young people have never worked anywhere and do not plan to do so.

LDPR deputy Aleksey Didenko notes that in addition to labor lessons, which have now been replaced by “technology”, modern schools do not have a system of school self-government.

– Only 4% of the population of our country participate in civic activism. The school government system is criticized for being a Western tradition. But it helps a person from school to form an attitude towards the state, – the parliamentarian emphasized.

To change the situation, the deputies propose to return traditional labor lessons to schools.

– The current technology lessons instill in children the skills of self-employment. They do something on the computer, doing Lego construction. But they don’t know how to work in a team. It is precisely the lesson of labor that gives such skills. Moreover, it is necessary to prescribe in the law that labor must be socially useful. Children should feel the price of labor, – Butskaya is sure.

To this end, the parliamentarians proposed at the level of law to prescribe the basics of labor education and fix that the school should transfer working skills to students, stimulate creativity and instill respect for other people’s work.

In addition, deputies propose to remove from the legislation everything related to the consent of parents and the students themselves to involve the latter in work.
