United Russia deputies in the State Duma were asked to send proposals to the faction apparatus on the implementation of the presidential address to the Federal Assembly, which took place on February 21. Two Duma United Russia members told Vedomosti about this. In particular, the deputies were asked to send proposals on legislative support for the provisions of the message (for how citizens viewed it, see the material on page 3). The deputies were supposed to send the information on Monday. In a special table, parliamentarians had to indicate the provisions of the presidential address, the number and title of the bill that is already under consideration in the lower house, which corresponds to this initiative, as well as the status of its consideration in the State Duma and the deadline for implementation.
Half of the initiatives named in the President’s message have already been submitted to the State Duma by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, but they were rejected, said the party’s press secretary, State Duma deputy Alexander Yushchenko: “We have been talking about some initiatives for 15 years already – like the abolition of the Bologna system. We will insist that when this bill is submitted to the State Duma, our proposals are taken into account and our deputies are among the sponsors.”
