Denmark will send military equipment worth DKK 3.7 billion (about $522.09 million) to Ukraine. About it reports Danish Ministry of Defense.
The XIII assistance package includes artillery, BMP-2, T-72EA tanks and armored engineering recovery vehicles. In addition, Denmark also provides support for NATO’s comprehensive aid package and joint EU artillery ammunition procurement.
“These are types of equipment and ammunition in demand by Ukraine, which it needs to maintain the combat capability of its ground forces,” the department noted.
“The donation is an important signal to both Ukraine and Russia that we will not let up our attention, even though much of the world’s attention these days is directed towards Israel and Palestine,” Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said.
On October 26, Slovak Minister Robert Fico said that the country would not supply Ukraine with weapons and military equipment, but would continue to provide humanitarian assistance. Fico noted that this would be “the best solution for Ukraine” and supported negotiations between Moscow and Kiev.
October 23 in Luxembourg took place the next meeting of the foreign ministers of the EU member states. During the meeting, they were unable to agree on the allocation of the eighth tranche of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 500 million euros from the European Peace Fund. The next tranche of military assistance to Kyiv was agreed upon back in May. Its allocation was blocked by Hungary due to Ukraine’s inclusion of the largest Hungarian OTP Bank in its “list of international war sponsors.”
