The demolition of the dacha of the legendary Soviet pilot Valery Chkalov began on the territory of the Moscow recreation area Serebryany Bor. As Valery Chkalov, Jr., the grandson of the hero, told MK, construction equipment appeared at the site at about 11 o’clock in the morning, the workers began to dismantle the buildings.
Valery Chkalov himself, Jr., was forced to leave the dacha on October 20, accompanied by bailiffs. He said that the house was in the life-long perpetual use of the Chkalov family. At the same time, the new owner of the site refused to register the corresponding encumbrances in Rosreestr. The court squabbles had been going on for a long time, in fact, Chkalov’s descendants lived in the dacha almost in a state of siege, which was repeatedly written by MK.

Valery Chkalov’s dacha was built in 1910. For the pilot’s hero, it was reconstructed. The house does not have the status of an object of cultural heritage. According to Valery Chkalov, Jr., the family failed to apply for recognition of the dacha as an object of cultural heritage due to the great complexity of this process.
