Demand for passports has risen sharply among Russians

In the nine months of this year, Russians have issued the largest number of passports since the beginning of the pandemic. This is reported by TASS with reference to the data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
According to the statistics of the department, from January to September, citizens of the Russian Federation issued 3.9 million foreign passports, which is one million more than in the same period of 2021.
At the same time, the number of Russians who wanted to get a passport for the first three quarters of 2022 turned out to be the highest in the last four years.
So in the pre-pandemic year of 2019, the Ministry of Internal Affairs issued 3.7 million foreign passports to Russians, in 2020 – 2.2 million. At the same time, 2020 and 2021 have the lowest figures, which is associated with the coronavirus pandemic and restrictive measures.
At the same time, the surge in 2022 does not exceed the figures for 2018 – then, in the first nine months, Russians issued 4.2 million international passports.
