Against the backdrop of a shortage of personnel and low unemployment, the demand for multitasking employees in Russia has grown sharply. The number of vacancies on HeadHunter, where the employee is required to “multitask,” increased almost three times in 2023 compared to 2021 (by 181%). HeadHunter Research Leads RBC.
During the period January–September 2023, 368 thousand vacancies were published on HeadHunter, where one of the requirements was multitasking. This is 17.4% more than the same period a year earlier, and 181% more than the same period in 2021.
As a rule, multitasking employees are needed in the financial, agricultural and hotel and restaurant sectors, cultural and art institutions, housing and communal services enterprises, non-profit organizations, educational and construction organizations, as well as housing and communal services enterprises, forestry and woodworking industries.
In addition, an increased demand for communicative workers was recorded (145.1 thousand, or 70.2% more compared to 2022 and 163% more than 2021). The number of vacancies requiring “stress resistance” from a potential employee increased by 52.5% compared to 2022, and by 106.7% compared to 2021.
This year, companies were looking for employees who could work in a team (more than 1.3 million vacancies). However, compared to 2022, the number of listings for this skill decreased by 13.4%, but increased by 19.6% compared to 2021.
In the summer, the unemployment rate in Russia reached a record low of 3%. Head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina spokethat there are almost no workers left in the economy. Head of the Ministry of Economy Maxim Reshetnikov offered more actively attract migrant workers into the economy. President Vladimir Putin said that such unemployment was caused by effective economic policy.
