Defense Ministry denies dismissal of DNR and LNR officers

Ministry of Defense of Russia refuted reports on the dismissal of officers of the 1st Donetsk and 2nd Lugansk army corps after their entry into the RF Armed Forces.

Not a single such order of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation “does exist and has not been issued,” the military department reports in the Telegram channel. “All servicemen of these formations, accepted into the RF Armed Forces since January 1 of this year, adequately and selflessly carry out combat missions within the framework of a special military operation,”— declared in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Today, February 19, the founder of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, called the decision to dismiss the officers of the DPR and LPR from the RF Armed Forces short-sighted. The statement was made at the meeting with Eduard Basurin, whose dismissal from the ranks of the RF Armed Forces was announced the day before FAN. He was deputy director of the People’s Militia of the DPR.

The fact that the 1st and 2nd army corps of the DPR and LPR are included in the RF Armed Forces, was announced December 31, during a visit by President Vladimir Putin to the headquarters of the Southern Military District, located in Rostov-on-Don. Treaties on the inclusion of new territories in Russia, including the DPR and LPR, were signed September 30, 2022.
