The Netherlands intends to send the first fourth-generation F-16 fighters to Ukraine as early as next year. This was stated by the country’s Minister of Defense Kaisa Ollongren in an interview with MSNBC.
At the moment, the head of the defense department is in the United States on a working visit.
“Actual deliveries of the fighters will begin sometime next year,” Ollongren said.
She emphasized that supplies will also depend on the training time for Ukrainian pilots to fly these fighters. According to Ollongren, there is no information on how long the pilot training will last, but Amsterdam expects it to take 6 to 8 months.
