December 1 – a coin will bring good luck

December 1 in the folk calendar – Plato and Roman Winter indicators. Like the day before, this day was used to judge what the winter would be like. Moreover, they watched the weather all day: in the morning they judged the beginning of winter, in the afternoon – about the middle, in the evening – about the end.

On the first day of winter in the villages, they usually engaged in the manufacture of various products for sale. For example, they made ceramic or wooden utensils, kitchen and household utensils, toys. Linden was preferred from wood. In addition to the fact that this tree is very malleable and convenient for craftsmen, it was believed that products were stored longer in linden dishes.

By the way, today it is recommended to eat only from wooden utensils. Our ancestors believed that this would help maintain prosperity in the house.

Orthodox went to church. It was believed that visiting the temple on this day would help improve the financial situation.

And there was also such a ceremony: you had to pick up a coin of the largest denomination and, holding it in your fist, say: “Plato and Roman, pour me a full pocket of money.” The charmed coin had to be carried with you for a whole year. Perhaps this way to get rich today will not work, but you can try. The main thing for the year is not to forget which of the ten-ruble coins in your wallet is a spell.

Also, according to popular beliefs, you can attract good luck and prosperity by giving alms to the poor or helping the needy.

But the collective work that day threatened with the emergence of financial problems and even the loss of friends and associates. So in this sense, today is the day of individual farmers.

It is impossible on the first day of December to complain about fate or other people, to quarrel, swear, argue, get angry and plan evil – so as not to spoil your own life.

Also, do not throw away or give away your children’s toys – with them you can take the well-being and good luck of the child out of the house.

Natural signs on December 1 are as follows:

– how many times a day the weather changes, so many changes in the weather during the winter.

– it got warmer and a south-west wind blew – towards a snowfall;

– the weather is clear – spring will be early;

– a snowstorm on this day also portends a snowstorm on Maslenitsa (from February 20 to February 26);

– if it is warm in the morning, there will be thaws at the beginning of winter;

– if it gets colder in the evening, the winter will drag on.
