NASA: debris from the ISS fell to Earth and broke through the roof of a house

The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) released a statement saying that debris from the International Space Station fell to Earth and crashed through the roof of a house in Florida.

The document states that back in March 2021, a cargo pallet with worn-out batteries with a total weight of about 2.6 thousand kg was thrown out of the ISS.

The metal products were expected to completely burn up in the atmosphere in March 2024, but some of the products survived re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere and crashed into a house in Naples, Florida.

According to Space News, the object that pierced the roof of the house was a support for mounting batteries on a pallet weighing 7.2 kg.
