Death toll from Hamas attack in Israel exceeds 700

As a result of the attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on Israel, more than 700 citizens of the country were killed, Israeli media reported, citing representatives of the Ministry of Health.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal, citing Egyptian officials, reported that Egyptian negotiators were unable to convince the Palestinian group to release the wounded Israeli hostages. At the same time, The Times of Israel, citing Israeli officials, wrote that the authorities are not aware of such negotiations.

Israeli Ambassador to Moscow Alexander Ben Zvi stated that Hamas kidnapped a large number of people during the attack on Israel, among them there may be Russian citizens. However, there were no reports of Russians among the hostages.
