Davankov is the second most popular presidential candidate after Putin – Kommersant

VTsIOM today, February 10, published data from a public opinion poll on the upcoming presidential elections (they will be held on March 15–17), and the rating of candidates.

From the survey data it follows that 85% of respondents know about the upcoming presidential elections; 76% said they would or would rather vote.

VTsIOM also, for the first time in this campaign, asked respondents which of the candidates on the ballot they would vote for if the elections were held this coming Sunday, February 11. 75% of respondents reported that they would vote for Vladimir Putin, 5% – for Vladislav Davankov (“New People”). Candidates from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (Nikolai Kharitonov) and the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (Leonid Slutsky) could count on the support of 4% of respondents each.

The option “I’ll come and spoil the ballot” was chosen by 2% of respondents; 8% of respondents were undecided. VTsIOM notes that 76% of the “declared turnout” consists of 62% of respondents who are definitely ready to vote, and 14% of those who are more likely to take part in the vote. 7% of respondents definitely do not intend to vote; another 4% are more likely to not take part in voting; 1% found it difficult to answer. The VTsIOM telephone survey was conducted on February 8, and 1.6 thousand Russians over the age of 18 took part in it. The maximum sampling error with a probability of 95% does not exceed 2.5%, as specified on the VTsIOM website.
