“Daughter” of MTS has created a platform for searching messages about leaks in the darknet and Telegram

MTS subsidiary Serenity Cyber ​​Security (from March 30 will operate under the MTS Red brand) has developed the Cicada 8 platform to control the cyber security of companies. It will monitor the appearance in the darknet, Telegram and the media of information about hacks or leaks of databases of customer companies. Aleksey Kuznetsov, technical head of security analysis at MTS Red, told Vedomosti about this. He refused to disclose the amount of investment in the project.

On average, more than 2,500 new vulnerabilities appear monthly, which are then used by attackers to conduct mass or targeted attacks, the company calculated. The standard method for solving this problem is to conduct regular penetration tests (a method for assessing the security of systems or networks by simulating a hacker attack. – Vedomosti), which take an average of eight weeks, Kuznetsov explained. Cicada 8 will check the perimeter continuously, which it says will reduce this period to one week.
