Dates of Putin’s possible visit to Indonesia named

The visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Indonesia may take place in 2023, as part of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit. This was announced by the Russian Ambassador to Jakarta Lyudmila Vorobyeva.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, she noted that in 2023 Indonesia will host several important ASEAN forums, including the East Asia Summit.
“We don’t rule out – and I can’t say 100% here, but we don’t rule out that maybe Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin will come to Indonesia,” she said.
She recalled that the visit did not take place in 2022, although an invitation was sent to the Russian President. Nevertheless, according to her, a pact of documents has already been prepared for signing by the leaders of Russia and Indonesia, including the Declaration on Strategic Partnership.
Vorobyeva noted that Indonesian President Joko Widodo may visit Russia, for example, as part of participation in the St. Petersburg Economic Forum.
